Dirt BMX: How do I get rid of a muddy patch?

mekill60 asked:

I have some doubles in the woods that I enjoy riding on and building. But right after a double and a berm, there's a 3×3 patch of mud that comes about for a few DAYS after raining. I really would like to hear a solution on how to get rid of this patch of mud, because I've wrecked on it quite a few times and it's an incredible nuisance. I've tried digging the mud up and replacing it with fresh dirt around it, but it turns right back into its original slop. Any suggestions?

The muddy patch pointing downhill fill with 6 of gravel then repack dirt on.
The trench 10×12ish across the muddy patch pointing downhill fill with 6 of gravel then repack dirt on to.
The trench 10×12ish across the trench hopefully this will provide good enough drainage.
